The Windjammer canopy was introduced in 1996. It brought to the sport a quick deploying parachute. PD used mylar ribs and stabililizers to achieve the quick opening characteristics and a crossed line configuration to center the chute quickly before launch.
This design has been copied by other parachute manufacturers, but is difficult to duplicate. The wing’s flight characterists are a melding of high quality materials and precise design that no one else in the industry has the resources to attempt.
This canopy is best used on higher powered machines like those using Rotax 582s.
